Red Nose Shrimp Care Guide

Tank Size:

• Minimum: 10 gallons to provide ample space and stability.

Substrate:

• Use fine gravel or shrimp-specific soil to support pH stability and beneficial bacteria growth.

Filtration:

• Employ a gentle filter (sponge or hang-on-back) to avoid strong currents. Ensure the filter intake is covered with a sponge to protect the shrimp.

• pH: 6.5-7.5
• General Hardness (GH): 4-8 dGH
• Carbonate Hardness (KH): 2-6 dKH

Water Changes:

• Perform weekly water changes of 10-20% to maintain water quality. Use dechlorinated water and match temperature and parameters.

Diet:

• Provide a balanced diet with high-quality shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach. Include occasional protein supplements like daphnia or micro-worms.

Feeding:

• Feed small amounts once a day. Remove uneaten food to prevent water contamination.

Tank Mates:

• Suitable companions include peaceful fish and other shrimp. Avoid aggressive or large fish that might prey on shrimp.

Health and Behavior:
