Blue Rili Neocaridina shrimp are a visually striking variety of Neocaridina shrimp, known for their vibrant blue coloration with transparent or "rili" segments. They are relatively easy to care for and can be a colorful addition to any freshwater aquarium. Here’s a detailed guide to their care:

Tank Setup

1. Tank Size: A minimum of 10 gallons is recommended. Larger tanks are preferable for maintaining stable water parameters and providing ample space.

2. Substrate: Use a fine substrate like sand or small gravel. Specialized shrimp substrates can also be used to help buffer the water and maintain optimal pH levels, but it is not strictly necessary.

3. Water Parameters:

   • Temperature: 22-26°C (72-78°F). Keep the temperature stable and avoid sudden fluctuations.
   • pH: 6.5-7.5. Blue Rili Neocaridina shrimp are adaptable but prefer slightly acidic to neutral water.
   • Hardness: They thrive in moderately hard water, typically 6-12 dGH.
   • TDS (Total Dissolved Solids): Maintain TDS around 150-250 ppm. Neocaridina shrimp are more tolerant of variations in TDS compared to some other shrimp species.

4. Filtration: Use a gentle filter, such as a sponge filter or a hang-on-back filter with a low flow rate. Avoid strong currents that can stress the shrimp.

5. Lighting: Moderate lighting is suitable. While Blue Rili Neocaridina shrimp do not have specific lighting needs, a well-lit tank helps in showcasing their color and making it easier to observe their behavior.

Diet

• Food: Provide a varied diet with high-quality shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and sinking granules. Supplement with blanched vegetables like zucchini, spinach, or carrots. Be cautious not to overfeed, as uneaten food can deteriorate water quality.
